MFA Showcase Series: AURA

“Aura” is the term used in modern mysticism to describe the outer membrane of the soul. It’s a live performance that integrates digital visual effects, audiovisual experience, and immersive audience interaction.

"You can be that person, you can be that monster, you can be that cop." Everyone is multifaceted, and every soul is complex — the monster of the id, the human of the ego, and the cop of the superego. You don’t need to be torn about which one to be come, because you are all three. At the same time, others will see different versions of you through their own eyes. What you can truly control and master is finding your true self —discovering what you genuinely want to do, and finding the soul that truly belongs to you.

Through the integration of electronic visual effects and motion tracking in a digital art approach. This work explores the journey of a soul — from its first emergence, curious and pure, to its entanglement with the colors of others, to its fall into confusion, and finally, its reconstruction into something truly its own.
